They arrived in Sacramento by train on Friday May 2nd, had dinner with us and Ron and Marilyn Hoppes that night, had breadfast Saturday morning with Ron and Marilyn in Davis, then drove to San Jose. Here we are having dinner Friday at the Virgin Sturgeon on the Sacramento River.
I joined up with them again Sunday morning in Los Gatos, and 7 of us headed to Santa Cruz for the day - Dean, Carol, Simon, Katherine, and the 2 boys. We had lunch at Stagnaro's on the wharf, then drove to Natural Bridges State Park for some beach time.
By then we were all in desperate need of ice cream...
Some of the Nebraskans needed to see redwoods, so we went over to Henry Cowell State Park for a 1-mile loop trail with lots of pauses and antics.
All the while Mother was patiently waiting at home for us to come by and pick her up for dinner at Carol and Don's. I think we finally got to Los Gatos Meadows at about 6:30. Carol and Don made a delicious dinner for the whole gang.
On Monday 8 (the 7 from Sunday plus Don) of us went to Happy Hollow in San Jose for rides and the zoo.
The roller coaster was the biggest hit for John.
Then to lunch at Erik's Deli
Monday dinner was at Los Gatos Meadows. I headed home from there. Dean & Co. left Tuesday by car down highway 1 to Pismo Beach, then on to Santa Barbara, where they caught a train to LA, then another one to Tucson.
Yes, lots of pictures, but having Dean and his posse out was LOTS of FUN! I hope we get to see them here or in Nebraska before those boys get to be too tall!
