Our Week-end in Inverness

We drove over Thursday afternoon (7/28/11), came back Sunday, and we had a fine, relaxing time. With 90 degree weather in the Valley, the coast fog was very welcome. Here's Jan at the lighthouse...

There were a pair of peregrine falcons out there, and this one posed for several minutes...

Saturday morning we tried to go out to Tomales Point to see the elk, but the fog there was THICK, so we headed back and walked out to the bridge at Abbott's Lagoon.

That afternoon we went to the Chimney Rock area and walked down to the rescue boathouse, normally a quiet stroll. Except we arrived just after the Marine Mammal Center released a half-dozen rehabbed seals, which made it a PR event for them, so there were LOTS of folks down there. Still a scenic, memorable visit.

We loved our vacation rental, totally private, nestled in the laurel and oak trees, with great views of Tomales Bay from all rooms -- this shot is from the bedroom. Very restful and peaceful.
